Trans Am, Day 3: To Chris’ House in Alexandria, VA

The first day is a short day.

Chris and I have known each since we were kids, but hadn’t seen each other since the early 1980s.

He is an avid cyclist, and lives near Washington, DC, and he offered to meet me at the train station and let me stay at his home on my first day, and I eagerly accepted – it seemed like a great way to get everything in order before leaving the city, and a great opportunity to catch up.

It was both of these, and more! We stayed up talking past midnight!

I didn’t see much of the Capitol, but I made it through the city center safely, thanks to Chris!
