Trans Am, Day 67: Frisco, CO to Georgetown, CO

Today I was joined by my friend Tony. We lived in Georgetown, Colorado together as teenagers, and he is a cyclist, so we decided to ride over Loveland Pass together. I say “together,” but the truth is that I couldn’t keep up with him. He lives at high altitude, and is riding a normal bike, so he was usually pretty far ahead of me. But he was patient! Also, because he was going slow, he had plenty of extra breath to talk, and I had to tell him I could no longer respond, because I couldn’t breathe! We were met at Loveland Ski Area by Steve, whom I’ve known since the early 1980s, and his awesome little dog Brodie, who shared a beach cruiser down the hill the Georgetown.

I love Colorado, and I was just blown away by the beauty of this day’s ride. It’s easy to see why everyone is moving to Colorado, and I am glad I wasn’t driving on I-70, which was bumper-to-bumper traffic.

I’ll be staying here for a couple days, and then I go up and over Loveland Pass again. In some sense, it’s all downhill from there! 😁
