Today’s ride was a short 48 miles from Hamilton to Missoula. I stopped by the Adventure Cycling headquarters (they are open on Saturday until the end of August). I chatted with them and a pair who came in not knowing what the ACA did. I have a feeling the husband is going to be doing this at some point!
Then I rode to my daughter’s veterinarian office. I walked in and said, “I am here to see Dr. Ivory.” I was trying to sound nonchalant, but I got a little choked up, so everyone knew it was her dad. She showed me around. I regaled some of the clients (well, the clients’ people anyway) with stories about my journey, and then I made my way to her apartment. I also weighed my bicycle — 115 pounds!
Just as I arrived at her house, two of my friends from Seattle reached Missoula. They’re on their way to a bike tour in Yellowstone. I introduced them to my grand-dogs before my daughter picked me up for lunch.
I will spend a couple days here before setting out on the rest of my trip!
