Trans Am, Day 7: Ashland, VA to Chickahominy Riverfront Campground

Today’s ride featured MANY Civil War battle sites, and the fabulous Virginia Capital Bike Trail.

I met a group of three Australian tourists heading east on the TABR. I will be a couple days behind them, but who knows! I forgot to take a picture of them. In fact, I keep forgetting to take pictures of EVERYONE!

I did get a picture of Paul and Nancy, who were out on a mini tour, but did the TABR a couple years ago. They regaled me with a story about a dog in Kentucky that Paul dragged on its belly while it held on to his pannier, which still has teeth Mark’s. I guess I’d better have a plan for retrieving the pepper spray quickly!

I will reach Yorktown tomorrow. It will be a short ride (30 miles?), but I think I may spend the night, and take care of some odds and ends (like mailing back my tools!).

(I am not reordering those pictures. Doing that on my phone is intensely frustrating!)
