I got a late start today and had a short day today, because I wanted to make sure I had a good plan for detouring around the closed bridge at Chester, IL (flooding and related repairs).
I decided on this detour, which uses parts of two segments from the ACA Great Rivers South route. It added almost no miles and has no elevation change, so it seems like a good alternative. I posted it in the forums here and on the ACA forums, but didn’t receive any feedback, so I am going to assume no news is good news!

It was another day of headwinds, and I discovered that singing loudly to music (except if you are breathing hard on a climb!😁) is a great way to pass the time, especially if it is mariachi music. Don’t tell Susan, but I am working on my “grito!”
